Projects
A project is the container for your 3D experience — it holds the reconstructed scene, lines, tags, and all configuration.
Creating a Project
From the dashboard, click New Project and upload your video footage. Retor will process the video through several stages:
- View extraction — frames are extracted from the video
- Reconstruction — COLMAP builds a point cloud from the frames
- Splat training — a Gaussian splat is trained from the point cloud

Project Settings
Open the settings panel to configure:
- Name & Description — shown in the preview overlay to viewers
- Start View — the camera position viewers see when the experience loads
- Start Line — which line auto-opens when the preview loads
- Navigation Type — Lines Only restricts viewers to scroll along lines, Free allows orbit and exploration

The Editor
The editor is the main workspace. The 3D scene fills the viewport. A toolbar at the top lets you switch between tools: Orbit (navigate the scene), Line (draw and edit lines), and Tag (place standalone tags on splats).

When you select a line or tag, a sidebar panel appears on the left with all properties and settings for that object.
